Last year, with some awesome filmmakers and great patrons, Geek Public Radio along with Casual Lifestyles and POET successfully raised money for the Alexandria Christmas Toy Drive. We had fun doing it too. This year, at the second annual Geek Independent Film Festival, we are planning on continuing that good works by raising even more money this year.

The GIF Festival will be on October 13th this year, and as of March 1st, 2012, we will be accepting submissions for this years festival. The deadline for submissions is September 1st. The final schedule will be posted within the following week.

We have made some modifications to the festival this year, based on suggestions made this last year. The event will take place on Saturday, from 10 am to 10 pm, with movies playing all day in the main building. There will be an area set aside where patrons can mingle and connect with the filmmakers and actors, and a green room available for those who participated in the production of the submissions being show. We will end the evening with an Official After Party at Tillies Icon located in town. It's shaping up to be a great show. Hope to see you there.
